HII Reports Strong Q1 2026 Earnings, Kennedy Sea Trials Complete

HII announced its first quarter 2026 financial results, reporting revenues of $3.1 billion and net earnings of $149 million, or $3.79 per diluted share. The defense contractor and owner of Newport News Shipbuilding also confirmed completion of builder’s sea trials for the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy (CVN 79).
The announcement included additional operational milestones, with new collective bargaining agreements ratified at Ingalls Shipbuilding extending through 2031. HII reaffirmed its previously issued financial guidance for the full year 2026. As America’s largest shipbuilder, HII maintains a 44,000-person workforce and specializes in delivering defense capabilities ranging from naval vessels to unmanned systems and advanced technologies.
