HII Awarded Part of Submarine Construction Contracts Worth $76 Billion

HII announced it has received contract modifications totaling approximately 76.6 billion dollars from the U.S. Navy for continued submarine construction at its Newport News Shipbuilding division and in partnership with General Dynamics Electric Boat. The contracts support construction of five additional Columbia-class submarines, nine additional Virginia-class submarines, and funding for shipyard infrastructure improvements. Newport News Shipbuilding will serve as the delivery yard for six of the planned Virginia-class submarines and will construct and deliver six module sections per submarine in the Columbia-class program.
The shipbuilder and its partner have delivered 26 Virginia-class submarines to date. Additionally, the company announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $1.38 per share, payable on Sept. 11, 2026, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on Aug. 28, 2026.
